, the Tampa Police are in the process of conducting an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Williams' death.
According to Chris Wilkerson, spokesperson for the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office, Williams' cause of death"is pending further study." During the course of his time in the intensive care unit, it's believed that he was provided drugs that were combined along with the medication that he was receiving for treatment. It's possible that could've been fatal after Williams went into respiratory arrest and cardiac arrest due to low oxygen levels.
The 6-foot-1, 212-pound wide receiver was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He spent his first four years with the franchise and was named to the PWFA-All Rookie Team after recording 65 catches for 964 yards and 11 touchdowns to begin his career with the Buccaneers.
