The New York Times reports that Twitter’s board and Tesla CEO Elon Musk are negotiating over his bid to buy the social media platform.

Musk says he has lined up $46.5 billion in financing to buy Twitter, and hes trying to negotiate an agreement with the company. The Tesla CEO says in documents filed Thursday, April 21, 2022 with U.S. securities regulators that hes exploring a tender offer to buy all of the social media platforms common stock for $54.20 per share in cash.
The Times, citing people with knowledge of the situation who it did not identify, said the two sides were discussing details including a timeline and fees if an agreement was signed and then fell apart. The people said the situation was fluid and fast-moving.that could make a takeover attempt prohibitively expensive.
