He'll be among the performers at the eight-hour Deep Ellum Music Festival on Nov. 18.will take place Nov. 18, featuring a slew of local acts and two national names: Reverend Run of Run-D.M.C. and fellow ‘80s hip-hop legend Doug E. Fresh.
The festival — billed as a “family-friendly” event — will run from noon to 8 p.m. at the intersection of Main Street and Good Latimer Expressway. It’s part of the Deep Ellum Foundation’s yearlong 150th anniversary celebration for the neighborhood, including the September opening of the Deep Ellum Community Center.

WFAA TV personality Tashara Parker will host the event.
”Deep Ellum is a huge part of who Bowling for Soup was, is and will be,” singer Jaret Reddick of Bowling for Soup said in a prepared statement. “Our band started in Wichita Falls in 1994, but when we journeyed to the Deep Ellum area … we found a family that accepted us and, more than that, supported us, even though we didn’t sound like anyone else in the scene. I still get that same feeling when I play down there.
