Following up on all the teases featured in The Walking Dead’s final episode, Rick and Michonne’s untitled spinoff series will finally explore the conflict with the CRM. During the wait for Rick’s return, the franchise has taken some time to reveal details about the CRM, but has so far avoided shedding light on their relationship with Rick specifically.

His abduction in season 9, combined with what was shown in his finale cameo, generated a number of talking points for the franchise to delve into in the spinoff series.
Rick's Walking Dead Jacket Suggests He Isn't Important To The CRM While it certainly appears that Rick is of great importance to his captors, his outfit in The Walking Dead series finale indicates otherwise. In his cameo, Rick can be seen wearing a jacket with huge Walking Dead: World Beyond connections. World Beyond confirmed that people who wear these jackets work at CRM culling facilities.
This was the same role the CRM assigned to Silas, one of the characters on World Beyond. To accomplish their daily goals, Silas and his fellow workers used a tool identical to the one spotted among Rick’s belongings in the finale. Obviously, this wasn’t a job where special skills or qualifications were needed, which would make Rick having this role all the more confusing.
