DEVELOPING: Puerto Ricans making way to capital of San Juan on Wed. to join a planned massive protest calling for resignation of Gov. Rosselló. Pop icon Ricky Martin, reggaetón stars Bad Bunny and Residente, others urging islanders to participate.
Bad Bunny, who sold out three consecutive concerts in Puerto Rico’s main coliseum recently, said on social media earlier this week, ““Puerto Rico, say present without fear. Let’s march in peace and remain firm and assertive,” he said. “When Puerto Rico unites, we accomplish wonderful things and we can change the course of history.”
The protests have reverberated on the U.S. mainland where there have been rallies in Miami and Orlando, Florida. In New York City, a protest is taking place Wednesday afternoon, and"Hamilton" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda tweeted out that he would be present.
