The 2020 event had just closed in early March before the coronavirus pandemic set in leaving many Americans were stuck at home for a while. Garden Club members decided to shift the event, which is produced completely with volunteer efforts, to every other year instead of an annual event. The River Oaks Garden Club was founded in 1927, then it hosted its first"Garden Pilgrimage" in 1935. The tour takes visitors to Bayou Bend and its gardens, plus the Rienzi house museum and four private homes.to see azaleas, tulips and flowering trees this spring. It's open Tuesday-Sunday.
