The RNC is suing SpeakerPelosi and the Jan. 6 committee to stop a subpoena seeking its fundraising information from software company Salesforce.

The plaintiffs, who filed suit Wednesday in federal court in Washington, D.C., claimed in a statement that such information is"completely unrelated to the attack on the Capitol" and that the subpoena could expose"the personal and private data of up to 60 million Americans."The complaint alleges that the subpoena violates the First and Fourth amendments and argues that the Jan. 6 panel"lacks necessary congressional authorization," among other claims.

"The RNC is challenging this unconstitutional overreach so that one of America’s two major political parties may not use the force of government to unlawfully seize the private and sensitive information of the other,” said Justin Riemer, the RNC's chief counsel.A representative for the Jan. 6 committee declined to comment when contacted by Axios.

Earlier Wednesday, Trump White House adviser Stephen Miller announced he was suing the panel to block a subpoena, issued Feb. 22, of phone records ranging from Nov. 1, 2020, to Jan. 31, 2021.
