USA TODAY Sports MLB writer Steve Gardner looks at the ripple effect of Aaron Judge staying with the New York Yankees.PHOENIX — The economic disparity in baseball is starting to become an alarming concern among owners, with commissioner Rob Manfred questioning Wednesday whether teams like the“Look, I think there’s real positives in the Padres story,’’ Manfred said at his spring-training press conference.

“The question becomes, 'How long can you continue to do that? What happens when you have to go through a rebuild?' But they have done a really, really good job of capitalizing on their talent to drive their revenue.’’ If Diamond is unable to broadcast games, Manfred said that teams will terminate their agreements, giving teams the right to broadcast on traditional and digital cable, with the help of MLB Network.
