The guru of all things 'Walking Dead' continues his dark world-building in comics and television. Robert Kirkman was recognized as part of 2018's Variety500 presented by VZMediaPlatform
About to enter its ninth season as AMC’s flagship show, “The Walking Dead” is as relentless as the undead hordes that populate it. Much of its continuity and growth — as well as its spinoff, “Fear the Walking Dead” — can be credited to Kirkman. The show’s co-creator has been a source of all things “Dead,” from the original comics to multiple teleplays to a series of novels.
His astounding prolificacy keeps him casting out elsewhere as well. Through his Skybound Entertainment shingle, co-founded with David Alpert, the prolific Kirkman recently secured a straight-to-series order from Amazon on “Invincible,” an adaptation of his and Cory Walker’s long-running comic about father-son superheroes. No matter what happens to his cable phenomenon, Kirkman’s business is always booming.
