Zimbabwe's former president Robert Mugabe dies aged 95, the country's President Emmerson Mnangagwa confirms on his official Twitter account

Mugabe died in Singapore, where he has often received medical treatment in recent years, a source with direct knowledge of the matter told Reuters. Mugabe was a former guerrilla chief who took power after the end of white minority rule in 1980 and presided over a country whose early promise was eroded by economic turmoil and human rights violations.
