Moves on the billboardcharts: robinthicke's ThatsWhatLoveCanDo hits No. 1 on Adult R&B Songs chart
airplay chart as “That’s What Love Can Do” jumps 3-1 on the list dated July 6. The song crowns the ranking through a 21% surge in plays in the week ending June 30, according to Nielsen Music.
With “Love,” Thicke returns to the chart’s summit for the first time since “For the Rest of My Life” reigned for five weeks in 2014. Prior to that, the singer-songwriter also clocked leaders with “Lost Without U” ; “Love After War” and “Blurred Lines” . As “Love” ascends in its 15th week on the Adult R&B Songs list, the song is Thicke’s third-fastest to reach the No. 1 slot. “Lines” wrapped its run to No. 1 in just 10 weeks, ahead of “Lost” completing the trek in 14 frames and “War”, which needed 16 weeks to take the No. 1 spot. “Life” required nearly twice as long as any other Thicke track, arriving at No. 1 in its 31st week on the ranking.chart as it skips 28-23. The track picks up a 25% bump to 8.
The current “Love” position matches the high point for Thicke’s previous chart entry there, “Morning Sun,” which reached No. 23 in 2015. Before that, his best showing was “Lines,” a 12-week champ on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay in 2013. “Lines” was Thicke’s most recent No. 1 on the chart, following 2007’s “Lost” and “Sex Therapy,” a two-week winner in 2010.
