Rockets coach Stephen Silas described his team’s play as “disjointed” on offense...
The Rockets made 51.3 percent of their shots against the NBA’s second-rated defense, out-rebounded their opponents by 10, and still lost.to squash the Rockets 113-95 on Thursday nightKevin Porter Jr., Eric Gordon and Jae’Sean Tate were all unavailable to play due to injuries, leaving Houston with a deficiency of ball handling. The Rockets appeared appropriately rudderless in a game in which they led for a total of 34 seconds.
“They were blitzing Jalen. We knew that he was gonna get blitzed,” Silas said. “They were double-teaming Alpe and we knew that Alpe was gonna get double-teamed, and they're one of the best defensive teams in the league. So the fact that they forced 22 turnovers wasn't super surprising, going in knowing that we didn't have three of our main guys handling the basketball.”
“I decided to go with Josh because he had been kind of in the rotation and I wanted to give him a good chance to get out there and get some minutes,” Silas said. “He did OK. He did fine. … I wouldn't say there's anything more I want to see from Josh. I want to see him have success on the floor. You know, it was an uncomfortable position at times for him just having the ball in his hand.
