Rockets' new themed suites capture swagger of sneaker culture
oyota Center has two newly decorated suites: the Green Room and the Sneaker Suite. The latter has custom sneakers in acrylic boxes mounted on one wall and colorful basketballs on another, with graffiti-style art panels in between.
Toyota Center has 80 suites that are leased by businesses or individuals for use at Toyota Center events, whether it's a Rockets basketball game or a Lizzo concert. Most are leased on lengthy contracts, but eight to 10 of them are available for individual games or events, including the two new themed suites. Each has 12 to 15 seats for watching the event, plus seating inside the suite for before or after a game, and areas for setting up catered food and a bar. Cost varies by event.
"After the pandemic, we knew that something needed to be explored with themed suites. People can throw sports memorabilia on a wall and call it a day, but there are so many things happening in this city," Gibson said, noting that the Sneaker Suite was curated in collaboration with the Premium Goods sneaker boutique."Our vision is to have a whole row of concept suites for different immersive experiences at all levels.
