Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is running for president in 2024. Here's a look at his career so far.
By WSJ StaffFlorida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday made his 2024 presidential candidacy official by filing paperwork with the Federal Election Commission, putting him in direct competition with former President Donald Trump and a growing field of other GOP candidates.
A gubernatorial campaign video uses images that depict DeSantis's military career and support from veterans. During his time in Congress, DeSantis was a vocal supporter of Trump and defended him amid the federal probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election. Through numerous appearances on Fox News, he came on Trump’s radar.
