More than 200 people attended the second annual Black Cowboy Museum Hall of Fame...

Greely, an El Campo native, began riding horses at age 3, winning his first roping competition — and a prize of $35 — at age 14. He was known in the rodeo community for horses trained for roping and steer-wrestling. He was a teacher and mentor to young riders. Greely, who died in 2009 at age 75, left a legacy that includes training two world calf-roping champions, Joe Beaver and Fred Whitfield.

A Richmond native, Cook is a member of the Southwestern National Cowboys Association and the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association, in which he made the Texas circuit finals several times, winning or placing across all the major rodeos across the United States. Cook lives with his wife and daughter in Fort Bend County, where they raise cattle and American quarter horses.
