Upgrades are underway at Rosenberg's Seabourne Creek Nature Park, funded by a $75,000 grant the city received through a contest sponsored by a beverage manufacturer and a national nonprofit park association.contest, will be used to transform six acres of open space into a home for native trees, said Travis Tanner, the city's community development director.
In October, following an extensive application process, Rosenberg was awarded the grant by beverage manufacturer Niagara Bottling in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association . “Per the grant requirements, work must be completed by December 2023; however, the city is ahead of schedule," Kevton said.
“The city of Rosenberg hopes to provide visitors to the park with an educational and fun outdoor environment where they can experience and learn to love nature,” said Kevton. “This project will create a family friendly learning adventure by showcasing a biodiverse collection of native trees found throughout Fort Bend County, add multiple picnic areas where family and friends can gather and add trails for walking and exercise and an open green space.
