Roughriders franchise quarterback Cody Fajardo is frustrated with dealing with his injured left knee.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders’ quarterback voiced frustration over what he feels may be the targeting of his injured left knee by opposing defensive players — sentiments he expressed after Saturday’s 30-24 loss to the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL’s Touchdown Atlantic game.
He has dealt with a number of hits to the knee since the Edmonton game, including one that occurred Saturday during a Shawn Oakman sack. Riders head coach Craig Dickenson challenged the second-quarter play, feeling that Oakman should have been penalized for roughing the passer on a low hit. The challenge was denied.
“That’s me believing that I can put weight on it and believing in it,” said Fajardo, who completed 24 of 34 passes for 284 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.
