won every bout, a former starter made his season debut and No. 13 Sammy Alvarez squeaked out another close win Friday when the Scarlet Knights blanked winless Bloomsburg, 45-0, in their second to last non-conference dual.
With the match starting at 141 pounds, Alvarez got the bout’s only point via riding time to ward off another upset scare. The former state champion from St. Joseph of Montvale said Tuesday he wasafter nearly being upset in the first round of the Midlands Championships last week and falling to Princeton’s Danny Coles in a dual Dec. 11.
