While racing in the IndyCar Series at Pocono in 2015, debris from Sage Karam's crash killed Justin Wilson. Karam returned to race there.
He discussed his journey from 2015 ‒ that resulted in"my whole life changing" ‒ to this weekend heading into the race.
"For a lot of time my big issue what that I affected a family," Karam said."In 2018, we were at the Indy 500 parade and Justin's daughters said, 'Hello, Sage,' and they waved to me. That was probably the biggest moment of everything so, just seeing that they were OK with me." "It's been seven years of agony, of stress. I just want to prove that I can drive this place," he said.
