We chat with SecretInvasion stars Samuel L. Jackson and Olivia Colman about Nick Fury's state of mind post-Blip, the connection between their characters, and the origins of the name Falsworth in Marvel comics:
In Secret Invasion, Nick Fury and Talos uncover a plot set in motion by a group of Skrulls. Tired of hiding in the shadows, they use their shape-shifting abilities to infiltrate positions of power around the world. Fury recruits his allies, including Maria Hill, but tensions rise as the question of who can be trusted becomes more important than ever with the growing danger of anyone being a Skrull in disguise.
Screen Rant spoke with Samuel L. Jackson and Olivia Colman about Secret Invasion. Colman revealed how she avoids spoiling Marvel secrets and gave insight into her character, Sonya Falsworth. Jackson discussed how Fury has changed since the Blip and his relationship with Falsworth. Being able to go somewhere and be shook and come back just adds a level of humanity to Nick that we haven't talked about. When we first meet him in Captain Marvel he's this young FBI agent who hadn't developed that callus over his soul just yet. So, he's a little soft, but all of a sudden when this Blip thing happens, it throws him, and he stays gone.
Samuel L. Jackson: Yeah, when you see them, and they see each other, they have a comfortability that's different from... The only relationship I would think of that comes anywhere near that is with Maria Hill and sometimes with Natasha. He has a thing with the female characters in the MCU that he doesn't have with the guys. Samuel L. Jackson: He's much closer with all the female people.
