Both of SAFC’s losses this season have come against Phoenix , which knocked off San Antonio 2-0 on April 2 at Toyota Field. San Antonio had also won all four of its road matches this season entering Saturday. SAFC and Phoenix both mounted plenty of offense, as San Antonio built a 25-23 lead in shots while trailing 9-7 in shots on target. But Phoenix was the only side to find a breakthrough, with Greg Hurst tallying in the 26th and 34th minutes before Richmond Antwi added a third late in second-half stoppage time.
San Antonio FC returns to action next week with another road match against Miami FC at 6 p.m. Saturday.
