San Antonio International Airport will get its first nonstop European flight next May.
The nonstop flight to Frankfurt, Germany will launch on May 17, 2024, with its initial season running through Sept. 6, 2024. The flight would operate three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
The scheduled flight times would be 10 hours and 15 minutes from San Antonio International Airport to Frankfurt International Airport and 11 hours and 25 minutes from FRA to SAT. “The inaugural non-stop transatlantic flight by Condor Airlines marks a monumental step in our Journey to elevate San Antonio into a global brand,” stated Marc Anderson, president and CEO of Visit San Antonio. “Our data unequivocally demonstrates the demand within the San Antonio region for these flights.
“In 2022, in excess of 300 passengers were traveling from the San Antonio area - leaving San Antonio to go to Europe - with the vast majority of those passengers wanting to go specifically into Frankfurt and into Germany,” Saenz said.
