A San Antonio man was found guilty last week of providing material support and resources to known terrorist organizations.

According to court documents, Wadi "conspired to funnel funds to members and affiliates of U.S. designated foreign terrorist organizations, including al-Nusrah Front, a Syrian militant organization" aligned with al-Qaida.
It was found that Wadi used investment funds from his purchase of a business to funnel money to "foreign militants." Wadi was found guilty on three counts. One count was for conspiracy to murder and maim in a foreign country, which is punishable by up to life in prison. Another was conspiracy to provide material support to designated foreign terrorist groups, which could bring 20 years of imprisonment and one count of conspiracy to provide material support or resources to terrorists, punishable by up to 15 years in prison.Sentencing is set to begin Aug. 23. Until then, Wadi remains in federal custody.
