San Bernardino County Fire Department crews were engaged with an abandoned commercial structure fire near I-215 Freeway Sunday.Major Alarm Brush Burns 4 Acres Near Hansen Dam; Over 120 Firefighters, Water-Dropping Aircraft Handle Blaze

The Second Alarm fire was reported just before 5:45 p.m. on University Parkway and was reported to be knocked down as of 8:30 p.m. Due to the heavy fire activity and lack of progress, crews were forced into defensive mode after several minutes on scene.READ MORE: Eleven firetrucks were on scene, three of which were ladder trucks that rose high above the flames as units attempted to control the situation from above.Crews remained on hand overnight to determine a cause in the fire and to handle any hot spots.

They also indicated that a fire had previously torn through part of the building, though they didn’t disclose when it occurred or what the circumstances surrounding that separate incident were.
