Three home runs push San Diego State into next week's best-of-three series against No. 15 Utah, with the winner advancing to the Women's College World Series
AJ Murphy, Cali Decker and Jeweliana Perez all homered and SDSU outlasted Liberty 6-3 in Sunday’s NCAA softball regionals in Los Angeles to advance to the first Super Regional in program history. The Aztecs will play No. 15 Utah in Salt Lake City in a best-of-three series next weekend, with the winner advancing to the Women’s College World Series.
Still, experts tabbed No. 2 UCLA — the Pac-12’s regular-season champion — as the favorite to win the Los Angeles Regional. In one of the bigger upsets in recent regional history, the Bruins fell to Grand Canyon in Friday’s opener and were eliminated by Liberty on Saturday evening.
