ICYMI: Sask. RCMP officer shot in head during weekend search is out of hospital
The officer has been treated and released from hospital for what were considered non-life-threatening injuries, according to an RCMP media release issued Wednesday.
They arrived to find four people inside and were able to take three into custody, according to a media release issued Sunday. A fourth man is alleged to have remained inside while refusing to co-operate. Police reported that the man eventually came out of the building, where officers tried to use non-lethal means to take him into custody. The man then allegedly “displayed a firearm,” according to the release, at which point shots were fired.
Two people were taken into custody during the Lloydminster searches. One appeared in court Wednesday, on charges including resisting arrest and obstructing a police officer. The other, facing charges including drug trafficking and weapons offences, is due to appear on March 14.Article content
