Battiste, who is also a researcher, author and fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, was named for her foundational contributions to research and scholarship on Indigenous knowledge and languages. The citation described Battiste as being “at the forefront of efforts in the Indigenization and decolonization of education, with influences that extend beyond national boundaries and educational institutions”.
Regina’s Creighton was described as “a trailblazer in the industry,” for her work to enrich television production and digital media in Canada over the last 35 years of her career.served as a member of SaskFilm for 16 years. She
