A Saskatchewan coroners service report from July found that 263 people in the province had already died of drug toxicity in 2023.
“It’s absolutely mind-blowing. I remember, even just a few years ago, there was so much stigma against people who use drugs and alcohol. They were judged. They were looked down on. They were labeled as bad people. But. We’re sick. And we’re not equipped with the tools that we need to overcome these things and work through our traumas.”
