Second victim dies days after shooting near San Marcos park [Breaking]
A second man who was shot near in a San Marcos park last week has died, a sheriff’s official said Monday.
Nicholas Tiefer, 20, of Vista, was shot along with his friend, Jesus Garcia, 19, of San Marcos, just after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday on West Borden Road near Las Posas Road, sheriff’s Lt. Chris Steffen said.Deputies found Garcia on the ground near the park entrance with a gunshot wound to his chest, Steffen said. Tiefer, found in the passenger seat of a nearby vehicle, suffered a gunshot wound to his neck.
Both victims were flown to hospitals by air ambulances, Steffen said. Garcia died the day of the shooting. Tiefer died Saturday.Anyone with information about this incident was asked to call the Homicide Unit at 285-6330 or after hours at 565-5200.
