A secret spaceplane has just broken the record for longest Earth orbit—721 days and counting
The mysterious X-37b has just broken the record for the most time in orbit around the Earth, now clocking in at 721 days of a top-secret Air Force mission.
The best part is that very few people have any idea what these missions are about. The objectives and payloads of the missions are classified, although the Air Force have let some vague details out in the past.an explainer from the USAF A further elaboration on the technologies that the Air Force is testing has only added fuel to speculation about what the government is doing up there:
– also known as an Impossible Drive. This theoretical engine, outlined in a paper by inventor Roger Shawyer in 2001, could produce thrust by reflecting microwaves internally, violating the law of conservation of momentum and other fundamental laws of physics.
