San Antonio police say a security guard has been arrested after shooting a man in the leg after a disturbance at a South Side H-E-B convenience store.A security guard has been arrested after shooting a man in the leg after a disturbance at a South Side H-E-B convenience store, San Antonio police said Tuesday.
The man, 40, reportedly was bothering customers shortly after 7 p.m. Monday at the store in the 7000 block of South Zarzamora Street, police said. Security guards confronted him as he walked outside of the store, but refused to comply with their commands, according to a police report. As the man walked toward one of the security guards, the guard fired his weapon once, striking the man in the leg, police said. The man was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center in critical condition.
The security guard, a 38-year-old man, was arrested at the scene and has since been booked into the Bexar County jail on a charge of aggravated assault, according to the report. He was not identified by police Tuesday morning.
