The long-serving senator and political trailblazer died last Thursday at her home in Washington, D.C., after a series of illnesses.
The public viewing will be under the city hall rotunda. People will be allowed to enter city hall and briefly pay their respects from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
A memorial service for the longtime senator will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the front steps of San Francisco City Hall. The public is invited to attend the outdoor service. There will be standing room available in the Civic Center Plaza. San Francisco City Hall will be transformed Wednesday when Dianne Feisntein, the former mayor and long-time Senator, will lie in state at the rotunda. On Thursday, political leaders from across the country will on the steps of city hall -- speak at her public memorial.
