You down with UWB? Here’s how one company’s real-time localization innovation made the world a safer, more connected place Sponsored by servicenow
In the early days of the pandemic, governments, businesses, and sports organizations zeroed in on contact tracing as among their most effective pandemic-era tools. For KINEXON, a provider of real-time location technology, it was an opportunity to join the fight against Covid while innovating its core technology.
As part of ServiceNow’s Knowledge 21 event, innovation evangelist Julia Martensen sat down with KINEXON Managing Director Mehdi Bentanfous to learn more. From a technological perspective, it was an easy pivot, but to do the pivot, obviously, you need to see the necessity of the technology. We had our first rollout with the NBA “bubble” in summer 2020 and after with the NFL. The NFL was the first proof we could use contact tracing to restart the league safely. And if we look at the number of infections but also the number of games cancelled because of Covid, we minimized them significantly. During the NCAA’s March Madness basketball tournament [which brings together 68 teams and hundreds of players from around the U.S. to one location], we got through the event with minimal chaos.
