District plans to review, refine book selection process
‘We will hold you accountable for the moral decay of our children,’ a Plano resident told the board in a recent meeting.in the past year, the district removed 19 titles and several others are currently going through the appeal process. Yet, some Plano ISD parents, non-resident community members and local special interest groups say some books retained on the shelves contain sexually explicit content and are pushing the district to do more.during a board meeting earlier this month.
The message included a list of five items the district plans to act on to strengthen the process for both future selections of library materials and those up for reconsideration.
