'I think there is a problem here where we think that we can stop all infection with booster shots. And I think this could be an American fallacy because the other countries are really protecting against severe disease,' Dr. Monica Gandhi said.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, Calif. -- It's the next stage in the two year battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I do know we have been seeing, most people coming in today, have been requesting boosters," she said. "They actually had no increased effectiveness of getting a fourth shot over a third shot of reinfection. Nor did that bring down their viral loads," said infectious disease expert, Dr. Monica Gandhi.
