San Francisco police arrested a 71-year-old woman who allegedly struck a 4-year-old girl and her family near Oracle Park, killing her and severely injuring her father.
Rueca said Cartagena remained at the scene and cooperated with an investigation into the crash, which occurred about 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday in the area of Fourth and Kings streets. The girl and her father were taken a hospital with life-threatening injuries, while the girl's mother was not reported to be injured. The girl later died of her wounds at the hospital.
