San Francisco police arrested an allegedly armed Oakland man after he reportedly attempted to flee the scene of a fight during the weekend Pride celebrations at the Civic Center.
Leedell Moore, 23, was taken into custody on suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm and resisting arrest after he attempted to run from police officers who were responding to reports of the fight, San Francisco Police Department Officer Gonee Sepulveda told The Examiner. Officers patrolling the San Francisco Pride celebrations in the area of Larkin and Grove streets were flagged down just before 5:25 p.m. on Sunday by witnesses who reported"a possible physical altercation" nearby, according to officials.
The officers found Moore and two others arguing in the area, and Sepulveda said Moore ran from police as they approached the altercation. The weekend San Francisco Pride celebrations contributed to BART's busiest Sunday since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 140,000 people packed into trains on Sunday, though those numbers were still far short of what the agency attracted in the last Pride Parade prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
