The Daredevil audiences will see in SheHulk is just like the comics version: 'It really feels like the character from the comics. It was so fun because he really does fit into the show so perfectly.'
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law head writer, Jessica Gao, recently explained that the Daredevil in the show is just like the Marvel Comics version. The legal action-comedy stars Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, a defense lawyer who has been hired to represent superhumans in a court of law. After a car accident, Walters is inadvertently infected with Bruce Banner's blood, which causes her to transform into the She-Hulk.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY The Daredevil television series debuted in 2015 on Netflix and ran for three seasons. Despite the show's popularity and critical acclaim, Daredevil was subsequently canceled in 2018. Since then, Cox reprised his role as defense lawyer Matt Murdock in a surprise cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Marvel's Netflix content was then transferred to Disney+.
“He has such reverence and love for that character. It’s clear that the character meant so much to him, but he also came very game to play around. He was totally up for more funny banter and having this fun dynamic with Jen and She-Hulk. It really feels like the character from the comics. It was so fun because he really does fit into the show so perfectly. They’re both lawyers, and they’re both superheroes.
Although Daredevil has typically been interpreted as a dark character, Gao appears to be pleased and excited with Murdock and Walters' chemistry in the show, inferring a lighter tone to his latest appearance. As the two are both defense attorneys and superheroes, the characters would likely have a lot in common in regard to their powers and moral motivations. This may even lead to a possible romantic interest as the Daredevil and She-Hulk had a brief romance within in the comics.
The Daredevil's traumatic past has made the hero and his stories generally dark compared to many other Marvel Comics characters. This could be seen when writer Frank Miller contributed to the character's run in the 1980s. The previous television series was praised by critics and fans as a relatively faithful adaptation of the character to the screen. However, audiences have wondered how the character would fare within the lighter-toned MCU.
