“I’m not some big, strong, 6-foot guy pretending to be a girl here, and taking over softball teams and winning championships. Like, I barely even get to play because I’m not great,” Ember said.

Ember, who asked that her last name not be shared, seen catching a softball. She’s Ohio’s only current trans female playing a varsity sport. House legislation would ban trans girls from playing interscholastic sports with females. Ember had only just made varsity when she learned about the state legislation that would block her from playing softball.varsity is something of a stretch. Her northeast Ohio high school team is short on players. It has no junior varsity counterpart.
