James Harrison Moore, of Alabaster, was convicted last week on charges of rape, sodomy and sex abuse of a child under the age of 12. Moore in 2018 pleaded guilty to sodomy of a child and was sentenced to 20 years in prison with just over three years to serve.

A Shelby County jury on Oct. 18 handed down the guilty verdict against Moore after a three-day trial. The case was tried before Presiding Circuit Judge Bill Bostick. A sentencing date has not yet been set. Sex abuse of a child under the age of 12 is a Class B felony with a sentence range from two to 20 years.
