Deputies say 50-year-old Thomas Moreno was found dead last week in a pond in the East County near El Capitan High School.
LAKESIDE, Calif. — A 50-year-old man was found dead Monday, August 1 in a pond near El Capitan High School, authorities reported.
The possible drowning death in the area of Moreno Drive and Willow Road in Lakeside was reported shortly before 3:30 a.m., according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The Medical Examiner's office has identified the victim as Thomas Moreno, according to the department. The cause of death is unclear at this time.
"At this point the death is suspicious in nature however, there is no indication of foul play," Lt. Chris Steffen said.
