Elisabeth Moss hunts a time-traveling serial killer in the new trailer for the Apple TV+ streaming series Shining Girls.
Elisabeth Moss is on the trail of a time-traveling serial killer in the new trailer for Shining Girls. Moss won rave reviews for her lead performance in the harrowing 2020 horror movie reboot The Invisible Man.
After being pitted against an invisible menace in that Blumhouse hit, Moss will again do battle with a unique brand of bad guy in a new Apple+ series based on Lauren Beukes’ 2013 novel The Shining Girls. The story casts Jamie Bell as Harper Curtis, a drifter living in Chicago during the Depression who stumbles upon the secret to time travel.
It of course remains to be seen if Shining Girls adds to that impressive peak TV legacy for Moss. The material does seem to be perfectly suited to her, as she’s demonstrated a facility for playing strong women who stand tall in the face of menacing threats from evil men . The fantasy/sci-fi twist of the new show should only add to its appeal as it seeks to stand out from the incredibly packed slate of streaming offerings set to hit people’s devices in the near future.
