Anthony Jones Jr. of Painesville has been charged with felonious assault. He is being held in the Lake County Jail on a $1.25 million bond.
Officers were called to the 200 block of Richmond Street just after 4:30 p.m. for reports of shots fired. When they arrived, no victims were there.
Police learned the male victim, also a Painesville resident, drove himself to University Hospitals TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township for treatment of a gunshot wound to the stomach. The victim later was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. Information on his condition was not available.
