In addition to her double-double dismount, Simone became the first woman gymnast to attempt a “triple-double” in a competition setting —And in case there was any doubt that Simone is, in fact, the GOAT, the gymnast’s uniform only solidifies it. During her training, the 22-year-oldwearing a bedazzled leotard with a literal goat emblazoned on the back. Make no mistake, we will stan forever!
In an interview with reporters after Friday’s competition, Simone was as humble as ever, reflecting on her errors during the routine. “Honestly as soon as I fell on floor, I was like, 'That’s it I’m scratching the meet, I’m walking off the floor,'" she . “On my last pass I felt like I had tears in my eyes, and that’s the only time I truly felt sorry for myself in a real long time. But you have to keep the momentum going.”But despite the tendency to focus on her mistakes , Simone also knows the extent of her talents — and she's not afraid to take pride in her skills, hence, the “goat” leo. “You’ll go your whole entire career and everybody will tell you you’re great,” the gymnast explained toahead of Friday’s competition.
