Simone Fontecchio, Jazz Agree to Two-Year, $6.25M Contract - RealGM Wiretap
The Utah Jazz have agreed to sign free agent forward Simone Fontecchio to a two-year, $6.25 million contract. Fontecchio is the first free agent the Jazz have signed this offseason, and he will get a portion of Utah's Non-Taxpayer MLE.
Fontecchio is a 6-foot-7 wing from Italy. He started his professional career by playing for teams in Italy before spending the last two years in Germany and then Spain. Last season, Fontecchio averaged 11.8 points on 45/41/86 shooting splits for Baskonia. He's been one of the more consistent three-point shooters in Europe over the last several seasons. Fontecchio has hit at least 41% from deep in four of his last six seasons.
