Southbound lanes of the Glenn Highway are closed at the Knik River Bridge following a single-vehicle collision, police said Friday evening.at 5:20 p.m. that the accident had closed all northbound and southbound lanes of the highway at the bridge, and that northbound drivers were being diverted to the Old Glenn Highway.
Just before 6 p.m., police said in an updated statement that the highway’s northbound lanes had reopened. The southbound lanes remain closed and drivers headed south into Anchorage are being asked to use an alternate route.
