Includes interface improvements and Bluetooth support, but no Sky Glass picture quality update
When Sky launched its Sky Stream box a few weeks back, it revealed that it would soon be enhancing its features with a firmware update. That firmware update is now here, bringing with it five significant improvements that affect both the Stream and Sky’s Glass TV.
For starters, access to your Playlist will move further up on the ‘Entertainment OS’ home page, shortening the time it takes you to access the TV shows or films you’ve got stored for later. In fact, the Playlist will become the first choice on your category rail. The Sky Stream and Glass home page will also be getting a new rail after the update called Continue Watching. As its name suggests, this much-requested rail will make it easier to pick straight up from where you left off watching any series you’re into.Next, all the rails in your Playlist area will now be ordered by the most recent content first, and there will also be a new Most Recent rail at the top that will display all your latest shows.
The final improvement introduced by the new update - the first major feature update for Stream, but just the latest in a long line of updates for Sky Glass - applies exclusively to Glass, and adds compatibility with Bluetooth headphones so that Glass viewers can enjoy their favourite shows at any time of the day or night without disturbing other members of the household.
