An excessive heat warning is in effect for parts of the region until Monday. The National Weather Service says the heat wave will likely spread into the valleys, closer to the coast, by Friday.
Los Angeles and Orange counties will have above average temperatures on Thursday with a high of 90 and lots of sun. Temperatures will stay in the 90s through Sunday. The valleys and Inland Empire will be hot as the areas reach a high of 102 degrees. Temperatures will be as high as a scorching 104 for Friday and 105 on Saturday.Mountains will be warm and sunny on Thursday with a high of 85, but more heat is in the forecast, with temperatures reaching 92 and 93 this weekend.
