Trisha Paddock, of Rancho Palos Verdes, led a healthy lifestyle, said her husband, and pushed others to do the same. She was 46.
Though the autopsy report has not yet been released, Ryan Paddock said the doctors believed Trisha Paddock suffered a heart attack. However, they did not find any blood clotting, he said.
Her death is the first related to the marathon since 2007 when a 50-year-old man participating in the L.A. Bike Tour held in conjunction with the marathon died after going into apparent cardiac arrest, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. In 1994, she graduated from Mira Costa High in Manhattan Beach. She went on to attend American University in Washington D.C.In Cape Town, South Africa, where she spent 18 months, she met Ryan Paddock, a native of Cape Town, in October 1997. The couple married in 2000.
Over the past few years, Trisha Paddock had become active in the PTA at her children’s school, Palos Verdes High School.Her true passion, though, was being a champion for students as the chairperson for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion branch of the Palos Verdes Peninsula School District PTA, something Trisha Paddock spearheaded.
