“Tegridy Farms Halloween Special” is the first mediocre episode of season 23, featuring an indulgent Butters joke that is initially amusing, but isn’t strong enough to be stretched out for twenty minutes.
It’s there that Butters activates a curse on himself, ignoring the advice of “Pet Sematary guy,” and finds himself pursued by a moldering Egyptian mummy. Said mummy is now romantically obsessed with Butters, and behaves like a deranged, manipulative lover. Randy and Towlie are pursued by the cows they murdered during their vegan business venture, followed by the mutilated corpse of Winnie-the-Pooh; Randy’s past sins are coming back to haunt him, and for some reason, so is Harvey Weinstein.
The police show up to Randy’s distress call and are deeply disappointed to discover that they can’t shoot anyone, and chastise Butters for blaming the mummy. Butters vows to do better, and to “try and make this curse work, somehow.” But the mummy is officially done with this relationship, and drives off into the distance.
